Procedure Information Guide

Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck): A procedure to tighten loose or saggy skin of the abdomen it also tightens abdominal muscles usually weakened with multiple pregnancies and extreme weight loss.
Outpatient Procedure:
  • Go home same day.
  • Occasionally requires an overnight stay.
Surgery Time:
  • 2 to 2 1/2 hours
Anesthesia:
  • General: Put to sleep
  • Board Certified Anesthesiologist
Incision:
  • Bikini Area
  • Length of incision varies from patient to patient, determined by how much skin is needed to be removed.
Recovery:
  • Immediately after surgery: 1 o 2 hours, then go home
  • Occasionally requires an overnight stay
  • At home: approximately 1 to 2 weeks
  • Exercise or rigorous activity: 4 weeks

Incision:
  • Under the arm
  • Around lower half of nipple
  • Occasionally in breast fold

Placement of Implant:
  • Under muscle
  • Occasionally above muscle
Recovery:

Incision:
  • Very small in discreet areas close to the areas to be liposuctioned.
Procedure:
  • A small canula or tube is inserted through the incisions to suction the fatty tissue.
  • Placed in a compression garment immediately after surgery.

  • Around the nipple areola (circular shape)
  • Around the nipple areolar area and straight down like a lollipop shape.
  • Occasionally around the nipple areolar and straight down as well as under the crease of the breast - shaped like an anchor

  • Occasionally right inside the nose
  • Usually incisions are made outside the nose
Recovery:
  • Immediately after surgery: 1 to 2 hours, then go home
  • At home: approximately 1 week occasionally more while bruising make take 2 weeks to resolve
  • Exercise or rigorous activity: 4 weeks
  • Splint on nose for 6 - 7 days
