Breast lift and/or reduction is designed to correct sagging breasts. A breast lift removes only the excessive breast skin and not breast tissue while the reduction removes both skin and breast tissue. Breasts often begin to sag after pregnancy or weight loss. The breast lift can restore the breast to it's previous position. Usually the nipple/areola needs to be raised to a higher position and then excessive skin is removed from the lower breast. This leaves a scar around the areola and down the lower center of the breast and usually in the breast fold. The scarring will usually fade after several months. Recovery is within one week and full healing takes four weeks before vigorous exercise can take place.
